Whitley Bay is situated less than 2 miles from Tynemouth up the coast on the A193 and about 8 miles from the city centre of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
The town boasts a fine stretch of golden sands forming a bay which stretches from St Marys Island in the north to Cullercoats in the south.
The town of around 35,000 people has its roots firmly established as a holiday resort but is now mainly a dormitory town for nearby Newcastle. In saying that it still has a holiday feel and is the home for countless hen and stag parties.
The principal nightlife location is South Parade which is lined with bars, restaurants, hotels and guesthouses. There are also 3 nightclubs in the town for those wanting to party into the night!
The seafront has a traditional promenade feel and is home to more hotels and restaurants. The town has it’s own station on the Tyne and Wear Metro System. There are numerous B&B’s, hotels, guest houses and nearby camping facilities to choose from.
